Dyeing your hair at home alone and with good results is possible. It is more convenient to go to the hairdresser, but it is also more expensive. So if you have never dared, we are going to try to convince you to give it a try, at least once. The dyes that the market offers for coloring at home are very simple to use and being careful, you will not stain a lot. Most come prepared so they don't leak. Some coloring kits include a comb or brush that also makes it easier to distribute the product throughout the hair. On the other hand, these are products with ingredients and advanced technology that, in addition to changing the color of your hair and hiding gray hair, take care of the hair, providing it with hydration and extra shine.
HOW TO CHOOSE THE TINT?
The first step is to choose the product to dye your hair at home. In addition to natural dyes, such as henna, you usually find two types of coloration: permanent or semi-permanent. The semi-permanent goes with the washes and usually lasts about 4 weeks. The perm does not go away with washing, but you will have to touch up the roots, as your hair grows.
Regarding the tone, if you do not like to risk and want a color similar to the one you are wearing, it is advisable to choose the tones that are suitable for your color, something that usually comes in the dye box.

It is not advisable to change the color of the hair more than two tones, because it could look very different.
The color of your skin is important when choosing a tone for your hair. For dark skin, the most favorable tones are red, brown or black and if you want a lighter tone, we recommend using caramel, brown or dark blonde tones. For pink or light skin it is more convenient to use lighter tones.
If your hair has a lot of gray, the result may be a little lighter than expected, especially if you apply a very bright color tone.
If your hair is previously colored and you want to apply a shade of a very different color, the result may be less intense than expected, especially if it is a shade lighter than the previous dye.
On the contrary, if you have a very light blonde tint or highlights, the result will be more intense.
When you usually dye with the same tone it is important to do the touch-up application at the root. To do this, you must apply 2/3 of the mixture only to the roots and after about 20 minutes, apply the rest of the product to all the hair.
Another factor that you should take into account is the condition of the hair. The more damaged the hair is, the more porous and therefore it will absorb more the color and a more intense or darker color will remain, especially at the ends.
HOW TO DYE YOUR HAIR AT HOME, STEP BY STEP
You have already chosen the dye, now it is time to read the instructions that all products include, and follow the instructions for its correct application. If you have never used this dye, it is a good idea to get an allergy test first. When the time comes, prepare everything you will need beforehand, wear old clothes that you don't mind staining and have a towel handy. Apply petroleum jelly or a little cream on the contour of the face, on the ears and on the neck, to avoid spots on the skin.
Make the mixture as indicated in the leaflet and apply the dye on your dry hair. It is preferable that you have not washed it that day, as freshly washed hair is, according to Syoss experts "more sensitive to possible irritations". Do not save the mixture for another day, use it immediately.
Respect the application times stated in the instructions, which are usually half an hour. Then rinse well until the water runs clear, to make sure there are no pigment traces in your hair.
